Issue 4: Reimagining Community by 1919
8.5x11
21 pages
Reimagining Community is a reflection of the values and beliefs that ground 1919 in the work we wish to do, the communities we represent, and the freedoms we seek. With this issue as an organizing backdrop, Reimagining Community brings together the voices of Black and racialized community actors to share their art, stories, and critique in conversation with each other, the reader, and their fellow community members. Across the art, stories, and conversations included in this issue you’ll find topics related to the hyper policing and criminalizing of Black and Brown communities, transnational solidarities, communal self-care and healing, chronic illness and disability, and incarceration. You'll find these stories communicated in written and visual mediums such as poetry, essays, photography, and visual art.
